A fatwa issued by a distinguished Islamic seminary in Lucknow on Tuesday said that taking the coronavirus vaccine whereas fasting within the holy month of Ramzan is permissible, and doesn’t invalidate the quick.
“The vaccine enters blood vessels and never the abdomen. Subsequently, taking it doesn’t have an effect on ‘roza’. Solely due to ‘roza’, Muslims shouldn’t keep away from taking the COVID-19 vaccine,” the ‘fatwa’ issued by Darul Ifta Farangi Mahal stated.
The fatwa was in reply to a query from Abdul Rashid Kidwai, a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
Kidwai stated that he had taken the primary vaccine shot earlier and needed to know if he can take the second dose which is due within the Ramzan interval.
The fatwa had signatures of clerics — Maulan Khalid Rashi Farangi Mahali, Maulana Nasrullah, Maulana Naemur Rehman Siddhiqui and Maulana Mushtaq.
