Taking COVID-19 vaccine throughout Ramzan doesn’t invalidate roza, says ‘fatwa’

A fatwa issued by a distinguished Islamic seminary in Lucknow on Tuesday said that taking the coronavirus vaccine whereas fasting within the holy month of Ramzan is permissible, and doesn’t invalidate the quick.

“The vaccine enters blood vessels and never the abdomen. Subsequently, taking it doesn’t have an effect on ‘roza’. Solely due to ‘roza’, Muslims shouldn’t keep away from taking the COVID-19 vaccine,” the ‘fatwa’ issued by Darul Ifta Farangi Mahal stated.

The fatwa was in reply to a query from Abdul Rashid Kidwai, a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
