Punjab BJP chief Ashwani Kumar’s automotive attacked

The automobile wherein Punjab BJP chief Ashwani Sharma was travelling was attacked by 30-40 individuals with bricks and sticks close to the toll plaza in Hoshiarpur city on Monday night, police stated.

Sharma, who escaped unharmed, termed the assault as an try to defame farmers.

“The assault was made as a part of the conspiracy to defame the farmers,” he instructed the media.

He stated some autos have been chasing him from Jalandhar when he was on approach again to Dasua city.

Condemning the incident, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh stated he requested Director Basic of Police Dinkar Gupta to determine the accused and arrest them.

“Will not enable anybody to disturb state’s peace and take legislation into palms,” he stated in a tweet.

BJP chief Tarun Chugh blamed the Youth Congress for the assault as guise as farmers to protest towards the contentious farm legal guidelines.

Nevertheless, the Chief Minister stated there was no query of involvement of the Youth Congress within the assault, and that the BJP ought to chorus from “frivolous and politically motivated allegations”.

“That is extremely irresponsible because the Punjab Police are investigating the case,” he added.
