“Eleven folks, principally beggars and poor labourers, died after ingesting some toxic liquid since Wednesday in areas falling underneath three police stations- Kharakuwa, Jeevajiganj and Mahakal,” Ujjain Extra Superintendent of Police Rupesh Dwivedi mentioned.

“We’re investigating what liquid they consumed and who offered it. We’re finishing up raids,” he mentioned.

Following the incident, Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Singh has suspended Kharakuwa Inspector M S Meena, Sub Inspector Niranjan Sharma and two constables Nawaz Saeed and Sheikh Anwar, the ASP mentioned.
