A junior commissioned officer (JCO) of the military was killed in heavy shelling by Pakistani troops alongside the Line of Management in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officers mentioned. This was the fourth deadly casualty in ceasefire violations by Pakistan previously 5 days.

“A JCO was killed in unprovoked Pakistani firing and shelling within the Nowshera sector of Rajouri,” the officers mentioned, including that additional particulars have been awaited.

Earlier, a defence spokesperson mentioned Pakistani troops opened hearth and shelled mortars in ahead areas in two sectors alongside the LoC within the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu area.

Pakistan initiated the unprovoked ceasefire violation within the Nowshera sector of Rajouri round 6.30 pm.
