Magisterial probe of two ballot associated incidents in southern Assam

The Cachar district Deputy Commissioner has ordered two separate magisterial inquiries of various election-related incidents, officers stated.

District officers on Sunday stated that the Cachar district Deputy Commissioner (DC) Keerthi Jalli has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident of firing by private safety guards of Assam Meeting Deputy Speaker Aminul Haque Laskar on Thursday after the second part of elections in southern Assam.

The DC entrusted District Growth Commissioner B.C. Das to conduct the probe and submit the report inside three days.

Three individuals had been reportedly injured within the firing by the bodyguards of Laskar, who’s contesting from the Sonai meeting constituency as a Bharatiya Janata Occasion nominee.

Jalli ordered one other magisterial inquiry into the incident of a automobile carrying unused EVM (Digital Voting Machine) overturning on April 1.

The EVM transporting automobile was attacked by some miscreants.

The DC has requested the Cachar’s further District Justice of the Peace Rukh Liangthang to conduct the probe and submit the report inside three days.
