Shivraj Cupboard’s nod for promulgation of ‘anti-love jihad’ ordinance 

The Madhya Pradesh Cupboard on Tuesday permitted the Dharma Swatantrata (Spiritual Freedom) Ordinance, 2020 to examine the rising circumstances of “love jihad” within the state. It has been despatched to Governor for last assent.

The ordinance was permitted throughout a particular Cupboard session which was presided over by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Bhopal.

The Cupboard had final week permitted the Madhya Pradesh Spiritual Freedom Invoice, 2020. The Invoice was permitted on Saturday and would have been tabled within the upcoming Meeting session however the session has now been cancelled. 

Below this legislation, there’s a provision of awarding a most of 10 years imprisonment and a penalty of Rs 1 lakh for forceful conversion of any individual beneath the pretext of marriage.
