MP govt orders probe in temple kissing scenes of Netflix collection ‘A Appropriate Boy’

Madhya Pradesh Residence Minister Narottam Mishra on Sunday mentioned the state police have been requested to look at the collection ‘A Appropriate Boy’ being streamed on Netflix to test if kissing scenes in it have been filmed in a temple and if it harm non secular sentiments. The minister additionally hinted at taking authorized motion towards the makers of the collection. An office-bearer of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the ruling BJP, has claimed the kissing scenes have been filmed in a temple in MP’s Maheshwar city and submitted a grievance to the Rewa superintendent of police.

“The collection ‘A Appropriate Boy’ was launched on an OTT media platform. Kissing scenes have been filmed inside a temple with bhajans being sung within the background. I take into account it objectionable. I believe this harm emotions,” Mishra, the state’s Residence minister, mentioned in a video assertion on Sunday. 

“I’ve directed police to look at the collection and decide what motion may be taken towards the producer and director of this collection.,” the minister added. In the meantime, BJYM nationwide secretary Gaurav Tiwari informed PTI that he had submitted a memorandum to Rewa SP Rakesh Kumar Singh on Saturday demanding an apology from Netflix and makers of the collection and elimination of “objectionable scenes”.

“Components of the collection have been filmed in Maheshwar city in Madhya Pradesh. The kissing scene contained in the temple has harm our sentiments,” Tiwari claimed.

Speaking to reporters, Rewa SP mentioned that additional motion shall be taken after footage of the objectionable scenes are obtained from Netflix. “I’ve obtained a memorandum from Gaurav Tiwari, by which it’s mentioned that objectionable scenes within the collection have been shot in a non secular place. Authorized motion shall be initiated after examination,” he mentioned.

The six-part Netflix collection has been directed by famend filmmaker Mira Nair, who is understood for her critically-acclaimed movies similar to “Salaam Bombay”, “Monsoon Wedding ceremony” and “The Namesake”.
