Rajasthan Royals captain Steve Smith opted to bat first on the Dubai Worldwide Stadium on Saturday for the IPL 2020 match towards Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Smith admitted that the slowness of the pitch urged him to go for batting first in Dubai. Rajasthan picked an unchanged XI.

“We’re batting. Day recreation, higher to bat first. Similar group for us. We have now obtained combine with Stokes again, we did loads of issues proper within the final recreation. The wickets are slowing up, one purpose for batting first,” mentioned Smith.

Kohli too would have batted first had he gained the toss. RCB have made a few modifications to deliver again stability to the lineup, certainly one of which incorporates the debut look of Shahbaz Ahmed.

“This pitch appears rather a lot higher, the floor appears rather a lot higher than what we had in Sharjah. We’d have batted first as properly. Couple of modifications for us – Mann is again for us, he replaces Siraj. Dube misses out, Shahbaz Ahmed will get his first recreation at the moment. That helps us get the stability again. We have now learnt from our losses, that reveals the character within the group. It has been a busy schedule this week, it is all about executing our plans,” mentioned Kohli.
