India might start COVID vaccination at workplaces from April 11

The federal government is predicted to start vaccination at workplaces for these above 45 years of age, information company ANI quoted sources as saying.

Based on the report, vaccination classes could also be organized at workplaces, each private and non-private, having about 100 eligible and prepared beneficiaries. 

“As a way to improve entry of vaccines to those populations (45 years and above) COVID-19 vaccination classes could also be organised at workplaces (private and non-private) having about 100 eligible and prepared beneficiaries by tagging these workplaces with an current COVID vaccination centre. Such office vaccination centres could also be launched throughout states/UTs from 11th April 2021,” sources informed the information company. 

On March 23, the federal government had introduced the opening of vaccination towards COVID-19 for all individuals above 45 years of age from April 1. 

The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16 with healthcare employees getting inoculated and vaccination of the frontline employees began from February 2.

On February 24, the federal government introduced kickstarting of the vaccination course of from March 1 for individuals above 60 years of age and people greater than 45 years having comorbidities.
