Gujarat native polls: BJP fields 31 Muslim candidates in Bharuch

The BJP has given tickets to as many as 31 Muslim candidates in Bharuch district for February 28 elections to native our bodies in Gujarat. Based on Marutisinh Atodariya, district BJP chief, that is for the primary time that the get together has fielded so many candidates from the Muslim neighborhood within the district.

However he denied that this has something to do with a rival alliance between the Bharatiya Tribal Get together (BTP) and Asaduddin Owaisi‘s All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen.

Bharuch district, with a large variety of Muslim voters, will see elections to the district panchayat, 9 taluka (tehsil) panchayats and 4 municipalities.

“Of complete 320 candidates declared by the BJP parliamentary board on Wednesday for the district, 31 are Muslim, the best ever in Bharuch up to now,” Atodariya mentioned.

Some candidates could also be changed if their nominations get rejected by the election authorities, he added.

Bharuch district panchayat, which has 34 seats, was dominated by the Congress and Jhaghadia MLA Chhotu Vasava’s BTP which was shaped following a break up within the JD(U).

Not too long ago, Vasava introduced ballot alliance with AIMIM and likewise held a joint rally with Owaisi final week.

However Atodariya denied that this alliance prompted the saffron get together to select extra Muslim candidates.

“Now we have not chosen candidates simply because they belong to a minority neighborhood. They had been chosen on advantage. For example, we have now chosen a Muslim BJP employee for Valia seat in district panchayat the place Hindus are in majority,” he mentioned.

The BJP’s acceptability amongst Muslims has elevated and plenty of of them have joined the get together, he claimed.
