The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Sunday introduced that each one faculties for college students as much as Class 9 will stay closed for 2 weeks from April 5 in view of the rising variety of COVID-19 instances within the union territory.
Bodily courses for college students from courses 10 to 12 may also be suspended for every week, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s workplace mentioned in a tweet on Sunday.
This comes days after the Jammu and Kashmir administration requested all district magistrates to take a name on the continuation of bodily courses in faculties amid a spike in COVID-19 instances within the union territory.
“In view of rising pattern in #COVID19 instances in J&Ok & probability of younger youngsters getting contaminated & transmitting an infection in massive numbers, ALL courses as much as & together with Class 9 in faculties will probably be closed for two weeks in all faculties starting on Monday, 5 April until 18 April, 21 in J&Ok,” Sinha’s workplace tweeted.
Colleges for college students of courses 10, 11 and 12 may also be closed for every week, it mentioned.
“Additional, all gatherings for social and customary capabilities will probably be restricted to 200 solely and after following due COVID SOPs,” it added.
COVID-19 instances in Jammu and Kashmir have proven an upward trajectory over the previous couple of weeks. The union territory had recorded 501 contemporary COVID-19 instances on Saturday.
