Cinema halls to reopen from October 15 with 50% seating capability

New Delhi: As per orders of the Central Authorities, cinemas halls, theatres and multiplexes reopen from October 15, I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar mentioned on Tuesday. The theatres have been directed to function with as much as 50% of their seating capability with one seat-distance. 

All COVID-19 pointers and normal working protocols (SOPs) issued by I&B Ministry should be adopted in any respect cinema halls/theatres, Javadekar added. 

Theatres had been shut ever since lockdown was imposed in March with the intention to curb the unfold of the novel coronavirus. 

A number of massive movies reminiscent of ‘Sooryavanshi’, ’83’, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, ‘Radhe’ and others have been slated for a launch. Owing to the pandemic, many Bollywood stars had taken to the OTT platform to launch their movies. 

As of now, Ranveer Singh ’83 is slated for a Christmas launch. Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ was initially set for a Christmas 2020 launch, however it was postponed to 2021. In the meantime, the discharge date of ‘Radhe’, starring Salman Khan, continues to be unknown. It was earlier slated for an Eid 2020 launch.
